Troubleshooting: microphone

1. Is your microphone plugged in (external mic) AND turned on? Disconnect and reconnect.


2. Select and test your microphone in PitchVantage Settings at the top right corner (next to Help button).


3. Close all other applications and browser tabs.


4. Adjust sound recording volume settings. (Windows | Mac)


5. Windows only: is your microphone disabled or need a driver update? Click Start > Go to Device Manager > Find Sound, video, and game controllers or Audio inputs and outputs > Update Device Driver.


6. Check your anti-virus software.


7. Are you able to record yourself with clear sound here?


8. Does your mic work in other applications such as Skype or Zoom? If not, hardware might be the problem.


9. Try a different browser.
