Follow the steps below to easily add a PitchVantage LTI tool to your course via the D2L/BrightSpace Learning Management System (LMS).
Within your course, navigate to the Table of Contents.
If no Modules exist, create one by providing a name for your module
Navigate to the Module where you would like to add PitchVantage. Click Existing Activities, then External Learning Tools.
Select and add PitchVantage. Note: Your LMS admin may have named the tool something else. Confirm the tool name before making your selection.
Once you added, click on the down arrow and click “Edit Properties In-place”.
Select the “Open as External Resource” to open PitchVantage in the new tab on launch.
To Add grade - Again Click on the down arrow next to PitchVantage link and click “View Topic”.
Under Activity Details -> Assessment -> Add a grade item
Click + New Grade Item.
Enter a Name of your choice and Select a Category or create a new Category (optional)
Enter a Description (optional)
For Maximum Points, enter the desired maximum grade value
Enter the Weight (%) that you want the grade item to contribute to the category or final grade. If a grade item is within a category you must specify the weight as % of the category, not the final grade.
For the Grade Scheme, select the option “Percentage”.
Click Save.
The assignment link is now created. Clicking the Open in New Window button will take you directly to PitchVantage.
Follow the steps below to easily add a PitchVantage LTI tool to your course if you have the newer D2L/BrightSpace UI.
Within your course click on “Content” menu.
If no module/unit exist then click on “New Unit” and create one by providing a name for your unit/module in the field provided.
Navigate to the Unit/Module where you would like to add PitchVantage. Click “Add Existing”, then click “External Tool Activity”.
Select PitchVantage. Note: Your LMS admin may have named the tool something else. Confirm the tool name before making your selection.
After adding the tool. Make sure you click on the right side on the three dots and click on the “edit” option.
You MUST choose the “Open in new tab” for PitchVantage to work. Change title as needed
Lastly, make sure you enable the visible button to make it available for your students.
Students' grades for the PitchVantage LTI tool will be posted under the column name “PitchVantage”.
You can adjust the PitchVantage grade parameter by click Assessment -> Grades -> Manage Grades. Then click on the down arrow and choose the edit option.
On edit form you find the option to include PitchVantage in final grade with other parameters configurations like maximum points etc.
