Instructor: create rubrics

Log into https://pitchvantage.com/log-in/ as instructor/trainer.

*Note: If PitchVantage is integrated with your course LMS (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, D2L), directly launch PitchVantage from your course assignment page.

Click Rubrics on top > Rubrics.

Create New Rubric.

Add to License Set: select a course section for the rubric

Copy data from rubric: default rubric

Rubric Title: e.g. informative speech rubric

Rubric Type: presentation OR response, make sure this matches the assignment type. If you create a response rubric, you can't add it to a presentation assignment.

Create and Edit.

Click into the rubric you just created to finalize rubric criteria, detailed files, and ratings/total score.

Rubric criteria:

Click Edit Rubric.

Under Edit Criteria (lower left) and Edit Sub-Criteria (lower right), directly delete or update the criteria names and weights. Don't forget to Save All.

*You do not have to have sub-criteria, you can delete them all.

If needed, add new criteria (top left) and new sub-criteria (top right). Don't forget to Save.

Everything should add up to 100%.

Rubric File:

If you have more detailed explanations of what it means to meet each standard (not meeting expectations, average, good, excellent, etc.), this is where you can add detailed rubric as a file.

Under Rubric File, Click Upload New > Select File. Open your new rubric file, then click Upload file.

Ratings and Grade Score:

Finally, decide on ratings for each criteria and total score.

Click Edit Ratings to change number of stars for each criteria.

• Quantitative: students see their final grades as a number
• Qualitative: students see their final grades as a qualitative level (average, etc.), no numbers

Click Edit Grade Score to give this rubric a total score possible.
