Create students groups

Modified on Fri, 08 Mar 2024 at 03:10 PM

You will form groups in PitchVantage for group presentations or peer review assignments. Email support@pitchvantage.com your group details and PitchVantage team is happy to add the groups for you.

To avoid duplicate work, wait until every student has registered in PitchVantage before you create groups.

Log into https://pitchvantage.com/log-in/ as instructor/trainer.

*Note: If PitchVantage is integrated with your course LMS (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, D2L), simply log into your LMS account and launch PitchVantage from your course assignment page.

Click Groups on top > Groups.

Click into a course section > Add Master Group.

Enter a Master Group title for your activity (e.g. Team presentation A groups, Peer review groups for speech B) > Save.

Based on your need, select one of the two ways to put students into groups:

1. Create random groups, most suitable for peer review assignments

Click Create Random Groups.

Enter a Group Prefix (e.g. group) and a Group Size (e.g. 3) > Create Random Groups.

Peer review assignment Tip: if you want to create a peer review assignment in which every student randomly reviews exactly two other peers, then you should create groups of 3s in here. Reviewing three other peers = Creating random group of 4s in here, etc.

Live recording assignment Tip: for individual live presentations, just create groups of 1, one slot for each individual presenter.

2. Create targeted groups, most suitable for group presentations

Create as many groups as you need to. Click Add Group.

Enter a Group Title (e.g. Team 1) > Save.

To assign a specific student to a group, simply drag the student name from the left and drop it under each group.
