Admin configuration for Blackboard

Step One: Register LTI 1.3 Tool


First, log into your Blackboard administrator account.

  • Blackboard users click System Admin
  • Blackboard Ultra users click Admin



Under Integrations tab, click LTI Tool Providers.



Click Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.



Enter the following Client ID:
a0ac99ee-c2e5-4cd3-a806-0df2999dc860


Then click Submit.



Next, verify and set the following information:


TOOL STATUS

INSTITUTION POLICIES

  • User Fields to Send: select ALL three fields
    • Role in Course
    • Name
    • Email Address
  • Allow grade service access: Yes
  • Allow Membership Service Access: Yes


Important: if you haven't done so already, please email the Deployment ID to your PitchVantage contact now!


Finally, click Submit to create the tool provider.


Step Two: Manage Placements


First, log into your Blackboard administrator account.

  • Blackboard users click System Admin
  • Blackboard Ultra users click Admin


Under Integrations tab, click LTI Tool Providers.


Under TOOL/PROVIDER column, find PitchVantage then click the down arrow next to it.


Click Manage Placements.



Click Create Placement.



Next, enter the following:


PLACEMENT INFORMATION

  • Label: Enter the name that will appear in the course (for example, PitchVantage)
  • Handle: pitchvantage-lti
  • Availability: Yes
  • Type: Course Content Tool
    • Check the box next to Allows grading
  • Check the box next to "Launch in New Window"
  • Icon: save the following icon to your computer then click upload

TOOL PROVIDER INFORMATION


Finally, click Submit.


Step Three: Enable Tool and Grade Posting


First, log into your Blackboard administrator account.

  • Blackboard users click System Admin
  • Blackboard Ultra users click Admin


Under Integrations tab, click LTI Tool Providers.


Click Manage Global Properties.



Select Yes next to Allow configured tool providers to post grades.



Finally, double check the following:


1. Make sure the "PitchVantage" provider domain's status is approved: go to System Admin (Ultra users go to Admin) > LTI Tool Providers. STATUS column must be Approved.



2. Make sure LTI tools are enabled in your system: go to System Admin (Ultra users go to Admin) > Tools. In here, look for the tool labeled LTI and make sure the availability for the Course Tool is “On”.



Look for the tool labeled PitchVantage and make sure the availability is also “On”.
